Carnival Fun - Midland Family Photographer
How much fun was this!?!?! Yes, at times we felt a little adventurous putting young children on these rickety 50 year old carnival rides...but it was all in the name of photography...so it was worth it, right? No one lost a limb, so I think the answer is YES. The boys were great! We were approaching bedtimes and they still behaved. This carnival was full of photographer eye candy, so I was glad I got to use it for this session before they packed up and headed out. Thanks W Family for being such troopers!

Babies in Bowls! - Midland Newborn Photographer
I love putting babies in bowls!! Especially when the bowl is as awesome as this one. :) And Mr. R was so cooperative. I believe he was only 7 days old when we shot these, so he was extra sleepy…just like I like 'em. And I have to thank his Dad for allowing us to put a sweet bear hat on his head. Not always the most manly accessory, but I say there's no masculinity in a newborn. It's the only time that we mothers of boys get to dress them in sweet things.

Camera Shy - Midland Family Photographer
Okay, these kids were definitely NOT camera shy!! When their Mom asked me if I'd be interested in shooting out at CAF amongst all the war birds, I did all I could to contain my excitement. My grandfather flew fighter planes in WWII, so I already have the upmost respect for these machines...and now I get to have a photo session with them!! The Dad flies these planes, so their kids are always playing around the CAF. This location is TRULY who they are. This is exactly what I want to give my clients….capturing pictures personal to them.

Improvising - Midland Family Photographer
I had originally planned on shooting this family in the gorgeous outdoors. But can you believe that it was 40 mph wind that day? What, in Midland, surely not?! So we hopped over to Claydesta for their atrium. I was bummed that we had to shoot indoors, but I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome. These shots turned out beautiful! Here is another happy sibling group. What's up with these Midland kids actually loving their little siblings at this age? It must be the water.
I loved the color of their clothes. I get asked a lot what to wear at my shoots. I always say coordinate and compliment. This was perfect!!

Amazing Family - Midland Family Photographer
This was my second time to shoot family portraits for this precious family. These siblings get along so well it makes me want to call my brother and apologize for all the fighting we did. Who knew it could be this good!! But seriously, they are such sweet kids. I had a blast playing with them. And the parents were so kind to allow me into thier home before the actual shoot to capture some truly candid shots of the family getting dressed and interacting. I called it thier "At Home" session. This is life, and I am desperate to freeze frame it. I love portrait shots, but pictures of your family just being a family is priceless.

Superman!
I had the pleasure of taking pictures of my friend's family. I used to work with the Dad when I was a childless Petroleum Engineer. Yes, my life has changed just a bit since then. I haven't seen them since we moved to Midland, so it was fun to finally meet their precious little boy!!

I told this fmaily that they better not stop at one child, because they sure do make cute kids together!

I'm Blogging!
Okay, so I took the plunge and started my photography blog. I took the year off from photography after my precious little girl was born. I don't regret one second of it. It was wonderful to give my two children all the undivided attention they need. But I'm slowly starting to take pictures and I hope to be fully opened and operating by the new school year. Here are a few shots of the kids I took during my sabbatical.

I'm already making Miss V. a tomboy, so I thought I'd finally give her some cute girly portraits. It's easy to forget that she has a sweet, feminine side since the poor child is playing with brother's trains and trucks all day.
